The Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing prepares professionals to meet the needs of 21st century urban populations. Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing is the largest public-sector nursing institution in New York, a unit of Hunter College, the largest senior college in the City University of New York. The City College of New York offers the Doctor of Nursing Science (DNS), a collaboration of Hunter with 2 other CUNY nursing programs.

Admissions:
Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of US$125. The applicant must also provide:
• A personal statement of purpose indicating your objectives in undertaking graduate study
• Proof of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited U.S. institution

Expenses and Financial Support:
In addition to tuition and fees, other academic year expenses for independent students include medical examination ($400);
health insurance ($600-1200); malpractice insurance ($20); uniforms, equipment and other miscellaneous expenses ($300); textbooks/supplies ($500); transportation ($675); housing, food and other expenses.
Buildings and Facilities:
Primary classroom and laboratory space for all nursing courses is the Brookdale Health Sciences Campus, located in Manhattan, at 425 East 25th Street, between First Avenue and the FDR Drive. Elective or required courses taught in other departments may be at other Hunter locations. All campuses are easily reached by mass transit or car (no parking facility available). Hunter College also has dormitory space at Brookdale, with a limited number of nursing students accommodated.

Student Support Services:
The School of Nursing Office of Student Recruitment, Support and Continuity and the College-wide Office of Student Services can help students succeed and make the most of their Hunter experience. Services and resources include everything from advising to counseling to career development to programs for enrichment and even relaxation in the new Sylvia E. Fishman Student Center.

Research Areas: HIV/AIDS prevention and management, diabetes, cancer prevention and treatment trials, dysphagia, health policy, pressure ulcer prevention and treatment in the elderly, depression, dysphagia, technology in nursing education, holistic nursing, and end of life care.
