Job Description:

The Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Ryerson University invites applications for two (2) tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level and one (1) limited-term faculty position. Tenure-track appointments shall be effective August 1, 2012. The limited-term faculty appointment shall be effective August 1, 2012 to July 31, 2015. All appointments are subject to final budgetary approval.

The School invites applications from candidates with a completed PhD in Nursing or a related health science discipline, with demonstrated teaching excellence. Candidates will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs and will display a capacity to meet high expectations for collaboration and collegial service. A completed post-doctoral program will be regarded as an asset. Successful candidates should be registered, or eligible for registration, with the relevant professional College in Ontario.

Tenure-track applicants will also have an established program of research related to nursing care and outcomes across the healthcare continuum (i.e., home care, acute care, and/or long term care). Priority will be given to quantitative researchers focused on advancing nursing / healthcare knowledge, practice and/or policy in the areas of chronic conditions, acute care, patient-oriented research, or implementation science. Furthermore, applicants will have a record of teaching and research that will contribute to the ongoing success of the School’s undergraduate and graduate programs, and its research and community collaboration profiles.

Limited-term faculty applicants will have a strong record of teaching that will contribute to the success of the School’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

The fully accredited Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing offers three dynamic programs: the Collaborative Nursing Degree Program, offered in partnership with Centennial and George Brown Colleges; the Post Diploma Nursing Degree Program; and a Master of Nursing Program that includes the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program. The School has a diverse student body of approximately 2,500 full-time students as well as 2,500 part-time students in outreach and continuing education partnership programs.
