Broward College invites applicants for a full time tenure track teaching position in the RN to BSN Nursing Program.
The successful candidate must have college or university -level teaching experience, a high level of computer literacy, and a commitment to teaching nurses at the baccalaureate level. Candidates should demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a minimum of 5-years of acute care nursing experience (pediatric/adult and a minimum of 2-years of community health nursing experience, (3) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, achievement and persistence; (4) technology competencies as well as teaching/counseling skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies; and (5) the use of resources that prepare students for productive lives.
The first review of applications will take place in April 2010.
Minimum Education: Ph.D. in Nursing or Nursing Education required. Master's of Science in Nursing is also required. Additionally, an unrestricted Florida Registered Nursing License is required.
Minimum Experience/Training: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) teaching experience in theory and clinical setting required. Basic computer skills including Word and Excel. Interest in teaching online classes.
Minimum three (3) years experience in adult/ community health, medical surgical nursing and nursing research in a college or university setting required.
Minimum Certification/Licenses: Must have a current, active unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse license.
