Indiana University Northwest invites applications for a full time ten month, tenure track academic position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. IU Northwest is a regional campus of Indiana University, with full access to the Indiana University libraries, computer systems, research facilities and all support systems.
The IU Northwest School of Nursing has 17 full-time faculty with additional FTEs in adjunct status and over 200 students. Its Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. It offers the Bachelors of Science degree, including the BA/BS to BSN Mobility Option. The School is part of the larger College of Health and Human Services that includes Medicine, Social Work, Radiography, Criminal Justice, Dental Hygiene, and others.
A Master’s degree in Nursing and a PhD in Nursing or related field, or a DNP are required. In addition, current clinical nursing practice experience in adult health care in the acute care setting is required. Previous teaching experience is preferred. The applicant must be currently licensed as an RN in Indiana or eligible for endorsement.
Responsibilities for the position will include teaching undergraduate didactic and clinical nursing courses, and community service/faculty governance activities, as well as, conducting independent and/or collaborative research. Research start-up funds and summer support are available.
The position is available August, 2012. Salary and benefits are competitive. The formal review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
