St. Ambrose University welcomes qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, 12-month tenure track position as Chair of the Department of Nursing. The CCNE accredited baccalaureate and masters’ programs enroll 270 students with 17 full-time faculty members in our new state-of-the-art Center for Health Sciences Education. We seek a dynamic individual to serve as an effective leader in a growing department. The position is responsible for oversight of BSN and MSN programs, accreditation accountability, budget, international programming, grants, marketing of the programs, envisioning future planning, and teaching.
Candidates for the position must have an earned terminal doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field; demonstrated effectiveness in leadership and faculty roles in professional nursing programs; knowledge of higher education, accreditation, and enrollment development; evidence of scholarly achievement; record of productive university, community and professional service; and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Iowa. The ideal candidate will have academic leadership experience and a history of securing extra-mural funding.
