Wilkes University invites applicants for the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Programs. The School of Nursing offers the following undergraduate programs: a generic BS degree in nursing, a LPN to BS degree and a RN to BS degree. The candidate must possess an understanding of baccalaureate nursing education, demonstrate creativity and leadership skills and have a record of excellent teaching and scholarly development.
Wilkes University is an independent institution of higher education with approximately 2,200 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a mid-sized city within two and one-half hours driving distance of New York City and Philadelphia.
The Director will oversee over 300 students in these dynamic undergraduate programs. This position is tenure track as an associate professor or rank equivalent to experience and requires teaching, scholarship, participation on committees, advisement of students, service and other University related activities. The ability to connect with students and the community is imperative. A doctorate and a master’s degree in nursing are required. Applicants should have experience in university teaching and scholarship activities. Individuals with prior leadership roles in nursing are preferred.
