MEDICAL-SURGICAL NURSING
PEDIATRIC NURSING
OBSTETRICAL NURSING
COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING
PSYCHIATRIC NURSING

CDU invites applications for nursing faculty positions. The newly erected $43 million, state-of-the-art Life Sciences Research Nursing Education Building joins the School of Nursing with the College of Medicine and the College of Science and Health as an integral component of the CDU academic mission, which focuses on addressing the healthcare needs of the underserved. This scientific research facility encompasses space for clinical research and support, and houses a simulation laboratory with OR suite, ICU bed, and nurses’ station for a 12-bed medical-surgical unit. CDU is the only higher education institution to be dually designated nationally as a Historically Black Graduate Institution (HBGI) and Hispanic Serving Health Professions School. In research dollars, CDU ranks in the top ten percent of more than 3400 institutions funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is in the top 50 private research universities. Located on the CDU campus is a pipeline of pre K-12 medical and health science programs which includes: Drew Head Start, Lincoln-Drew Elementary and Middle Schools, and the King-Drew Medical Magnet High School.
Responsibilities: Nursing faculty will teach, advise students, secure external funding to support their research, and engage in community service initiatives.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants must hold a master’s degree in nursing, a current license or eligibility to practice nursing in the state of California, and an earned doctorate in nursing or related field. Consideration will be given to candidates nearing completion of their doctoral education. Evidence of scholarly achievement, including publications and professional presentations, a proven track record in peer-reviewed and externally funded research and prior academic experience is preferred
