Part time academic staff Mid-Level Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) appointment with possibility of renewal
Qualifications:
Must have current or be eligible for DEA license. Prefer ACLS certification, experience with college health population, Masters level degree or higher and demonstrated success in working with diverse populations. Must have or be eligible for Wisconsin Licensure as a Physician Assistant or for Nurse Practitioner. If Nurse Practitioner must have Registered Nurse license or eligible for license in the state of Wisconsin, Nurse Practitioner certification from a nationally recognized accrediting body, Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license or eligible for license in the State of Wisconsin.

Responsibilities:
Direct Care Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
•
Provides a full range of outpatient medical care as a Mid-level provider to students. Scope includes care for minor trauma, illnesses, reproductive health care, and health maintenance/health promotion for the student population. Provides care and assists in the management of health services for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities and may include an in-depth assessment and plan of care, as needed.
•
Provides care to students by obtaining and evaluating client history, performing an appropriate physical exam, ordering and evaluating laboratory tests and medications. Utilizes EMR effectively.
•
Provides consultation, cooperative case management and professional leadership with UHCS staff.
•
Provides continuity of care to patients by coordinating health care needs through intervention, counseling and referral on and off campus.
•
Promotes health maintenance, promotion and self-advocacy by individualized teaching and providing information for self-care and behavioral change for each student as appropriate. Identifies and responds to students at risk for serious health conditions.
Non-Clinical Duties and Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
•
Prepares and presents campus and community health programming.
•
Keeps current with new developments in health care by attending in-service programs, professional conferences, reading professional literature and participating with UHCS staff in numerous settings. Maintains necessary certification/licensures.
•
Participates in the development and maintenance of quality care and AAAHC accreditation standards.
•
Involvement in additional programs and committees for UHCS, UWW campus, and professional organizations.
•
Participates as a member of UHCS and university committees, including preceptor-ships and other student learning activities.

Whitewater, a city with a population of over 14,450 is located in southeastern Wisconsin near the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest. The immediate area offers a wide variety of summer and winter recreational activities, including facilities of the nearby Whitewater Lake recreational area. Whitewater is 50 miles from Milwaukee, 45 miles from Madison and 110 miles from Chicago.
