BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) provide medical care and pre/post op surgical care to critically ill and convalescent infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). NNP’s assist and direct resuscitations of unstable infants, including in the delivery room. NNP’s provide family centered care and treat the infant and the family as a unit.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s degree in nursing
A current RN license from the State of Iowa
A current ARNP license from the State of Iowa
National certification as NNP (national exam)
Reasonable (1-3 years) current experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated Level III NICU nursery experience is highly desirable
Demonstrated clinical excellence through published articles and/or clinical presentations is highly desirable
