Response to Filipino Nurse Non-Immigrant/Lena Gould, CRNA, MSN

Hello Future CRNA!

Please go online to any college website and click on international student link. For instance, Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has an international student link. It clearly outlines that you are an international student, if you have a non-immigrant student, including a student visa, or exchange visa per their website. There are merit-scholarships available at most colleges and universities as well as other support services for non-immigrant students.

You did not mention in your post if you were a BSN or ADN. Please note that you must have at a minimum a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, GRE Exam (most programs), a grade point average of over 3.0, a CRNA shadowing experience (preferable), and a well written essay.

Seriously consider attending the Diversity CRNA Information Session at Northeastern University (March 26th). You will meet three Nurse Anesthesia Program Directors, minority CRNAs and SRNAs. Discussed will be the admission process, rigors of the program, clinical, didactic courses and Doctoral opportunities! If you want to learn about comprehensive information about the process visit the Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship Program website, www.diversitycrna.org.
You can register for the event and book your hotel information online too! Deadline is March 5th.
